The 2020 market season has ended. Thank you to all our vendors and customers who made the market a success this year! We look forward to seeing you at the market in 2021. Please check back for updates!

Message from the Baker City Farmers Market Board

To the friends of the Baker City Farmers Market,

We have some good news—we recently received a grant from the Farmers Market Fund to support our Double Up Food Bucks program. For every dollar spent on SNAP-eligible foods, DUFB recipients receive an additional dollar to spend on local fruits and veggies. We’re excited to grow our DUFB program this season. If you want to support this program, please visit our Get Involved page!

We care about your safety first, and are implementing significant measures to help protect the health of our customers, our vendors, and our community. These measures were designed to comply with state and local regulations and are subject to change. Please check back often and heed all signs at the market. Thank you for helping us stay open and stay safe! At this time, we must:
  • Space vendor booths 6-10 feet apart.

  • Control the number of shoppers allowed in the market at one time for physical distancing.

  • Ground markers to indicate 6-foot spacing at every booth and in high traffic areas.

  • Cancel music, kids programming, special events, and communal seating until further notice.

  • Require all hot food and drinks to be sold as ‘to-go’. No consumption on market premises.

  • Cancel food sampling until further notice.

  • Regularly sanitize all high-touch areas with bleach or alcohol solution.

  • Not allow vendors or staff to be present at the market if feeling any symptoms of illness.

  • Require vendors to round items to the nearest dollar, to avoid coin handling.

  • Vendors will pre-package as much as is reasonable to eliminate handling of produce at the market.

  • Vendors will have hand sanitizer available to customers at checkout.

  • Require vendors, staff and volunteers to wear face coverings.

We will continue to do everything we can to make our market the safest source of fresh, local food possible. We need your help to make that happen. In addition to the policy changes listed above, we’re asking the following of our customers:
  • We ask shoppers to remain 6 feet apart at all times.

  • If you have any symptoms or believe that you may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, please stay home.

  • If possible, send only one member of your household to shop at the market.

  • Come prepared with a list of items to decrease the amount of time spent at the market.

  • Talk to your neighbors, and consider sending one shopper for multiple households if you can.

  • For everyone’s safety, we ask shoppers to point to the food item you want. The vendor will package it up for you. If you touch it, you buy it!

  • Please, please, please wear a mask, bandana, or even an old T-shirt over your mouth and nose!

  • Leave your dog at home. Only service animals are allowed at the market right now!

  • Read signage at the market and follow instructions – Please use the two entrances at the market.

  • We love our market kids but please consider leaving them at home if possible.

  • After completing your purchases, please do not linger in the market space.

Thank you all for helping us all stay safe and healthy!
